Only her hairdresser knows for sure!

Remember those Clairol commercials from the ‘60’s?

With the universal lockdown during this frightening Covid-19 pandemic, a lot of people won’t be dyeing their hair or going to the hairdresser.

I predict there will be a lot of home haircuts, dye jobs and creative scarf and hat wearing.  We are going to have to learn new skills.  Men will be rocking that bald head wrestler look. Crewcuts will abound on all sexes.

I dyed my hair for 30 years but two years ago after my hair fell out after chemo- I stopped.  I felt a bit freer, a bit greyer, but it was interesting to see how I Iooked again, naturally.

Before my hair fell out, I bought a few wigs.  I never took to the feel or the weight of them on my head, although they looked ok.  My favorite was a 20 dollar Amazon magenta wig, that made me feel like a Rocky Horror Picture Show cast member.  Another more expensive wig was a Raquel Welch one, it was cute, but I sure didn’t look like Raquel with it on.  I ended up donating them all.

I wear a short hairdo now and I love it.  It’s easy care and a bit edgy.

So people of America, of the world, those of us who were slaves to our hair salons- time to get out those scissors and rock it!

It’s all good, let’s put a bowl over our heads and aspire to a Moe Howard haircut.  Or aspire to a Curly look- no hair at all!
