I have been involved with a great group of dancers in a writing/movement workshop on Zoom. The leader, Sam Horning, is a dancer with the Lucky Plush Dance Company in Chicago. Talk about movement and group interaction in the best possible way!
So today the image we were to explore and “move” was gardening. I took it literally and thought about myself and my mind and body.
Can I replant my mind?
I decided today I would try it.
First, I must till. Turn over all the negative thoughts in my head and pull out the weeds, the dead roots, the unfriendly bugs and the mold and rot.
Next, I will sprinkle in some good news thoughts, that will energize my mind and allow it to heal and refresh.
After some meditation, self-mediation and a good long walk, I will sprinkle in some new ideas. These ideas will be gently watered and fertilized with optimism, laughter, friendship and creativity.
I will root myself into my new ideas by movement, prayers, meditation, and breathing.
After an undetermined time, I will sprout and flourish and grow.
I will have to prune undesired thoughts and weed out negative and evil ones.
I will water daily with healthy food and drink.
I will protect my new growth tenderly and carefully.
I will be amazed and so proud when I finally emerge from a tender bud into a glorious, vibrant flower.
I will be happy. I will be grateful.
I will grow.
